Join us as we celebrate Fran Tognazzini, whose love of agriculture and cattle began at a very early age on her family's Wisconsin dairy farm. Originally from Evanston, Illinois, and still carrying the Chi-town twang, Fran moved west, married the love of her life, Paul, and brought her love of the outdoors, cattle, and agriculture with her to the Central Coast, where she immediately joined the San Luis Obispo County CattleWomen.
Fran has been a CattleWoman for more than forty years and was honored as CattleWoman of the Year in 2002. She married into the Tognazzini family, whose cattle ranches in Cayucos and Los Osos Valley have been in operation for over 150 years; their youngest son, Charlie, is a fifth-generation cattle rancher, and the family raises Red Angus cattle. A strong believer that ranchers are good stewards of the land, Fran has been instrumental in fundraising for the CattleWomen's educational scholarships, and she is deeply involved with two local non-profits, Jack's Helping Hand and Paso Robles Pioneer Day. For the month, Fran has partnered with our team on a featured dish and drink pairing, with $1 from each item sold donated to the San Luis Obispo County CattleWomen Scholarship Fund and Jack's Helping Hand — causes close to her heart.
